Government Internet email
We provide internet emails for government employees that have rich features like all the popular email brands. This gives our public officers a secure government email account to communicate and makes communication professional versus using yahoo or Hotmail account. This also servers to show the contacts that the user is a certified employee of the ministry or department under which his domain falls under.
Microsoft Exchange
Users under the CITO network all have Exchange accounts for internal emailing and sharing of information and data. Exchange comes with features that are integrated into the Microsoft Office suite particularly MS Outlook (Calendar, tasks, public folders etc.)
Microsoft Lyncs
Users on the domain are also given Lyncs account to chat/communicate internally with one another across the WAN that spans the entire country. They can communicate via text, voice, or video format and can also share and collaborate their works with one another. Makes for a more user friendly environment.
Web Hosting
CITO provides web hosting for government and third party websites. Servers are maintained by our knowledgeable and capable Administrators on several different operating systems that include Windows and Linux environments.
Antivirus Protection/Security
CITO provides a robust system for security in terms of securing data and information. Computers are protected and updated from viruses. USB devices are monitored, emails are scanned and changes made on the system are logged. Hard drives can be encrypted to prevent theft and loss of data. New ways to improve and secure the system is always being worked on.
Security is a critical element of the CITO operations. The CITO Information Security Policies identifies the rules and procedures that all persons accessing the GoB WAN computer resources must adhere to in order to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and resources.
Furthermore, it puts into writing the CITO security posture, describes and assigns functions and responsibilities, grants authority to security professionals, and identifies the incident response processes and procedures. The headings for policy issues addressed are:
- Securing hardware, peripherals and other equipment
- Controlling access to information and systems
- Processing information and documents
- Purchasing and maintaining commercial software
- Developing and maintaining in-house software
- Combating cyber crime
- Complying with legal and policy requirements
- Planning for business continuity
- Addressing personnel issues relating to security
- Delivering training and staff awareness
- Dealing with premises related considerations
- Detecting and responding to Information Security incidents
- Classifying information and data

Performance and availability increase and operations become automated resulting in IT that’s easier to implement and less costly to own and manage.
